When preparing a property for construction, you must decide which areas to clear-cut and which you want to select-cut, if any. As part of woodland and forest management, you must watch for areas that will continue to erode if you clear-cut. Other considerations include whether you need to create farmland or pasture, natural waterways on the property, and the type of trees. Mills do not accept all trees, but those trees may make excellent landscape and shade trees.
