Miller Farms Pricing
One of the first questions our customers ask us is how much your timber is worth. Miller Farms sells timber to several different mills. Our pricing is based on what the mill is paying. While most mills pay about the same based on what they can get for processed lumber, we try to choose the mill that pays the best, as prices can change quickly.
Miller Farms pays a percentage split based on several factors, including the quality of the timer and the topography of the land. The steeper the land, the harder it is for us to get the timber out, thus using more resources, including diesel.
Our Pricing Process
When you first contact us, we will make an appointment to walk your land. We check the size and quality of the timber in addition to the difficulty of removing the timber. We will quote you a split percentage based on those and other factors. You will receive that percentage of what the mills pay us for the timber.
We will provide you with a copy of the receipt we receive from the mill when we pay you for the logs. Depending on the mill, it will tell you the number of logs, species, linear feet of each log, and the price per linear foot for the species.
The day you get paid for the logs depends on the day the mill pays. Most mills pay at the end of the week.
